The practice was established in 1993 and is independently owned by Dr. Pennye Stammer Doud . Dr. Doud, born in New Mexico, refers to herself as a "retired military brat". After living throughout the Southeast, she settled in Maryland and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Dr. Doud received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she graduated with honors. At UHCO, she was elected to the Dean's List, was inducted into the Gold Key International Honor Society and the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Doud currently resides in Edgewater with her husband, Gregg and their two children, Abigail and Aidan. In between trying to keep up with the kids, Dr. Doud loves to garden, travel and goes on "golf dates" with her husband.
